In 2021, the municipality of Mont-sur-Lausanne decided to hand over the organization of its annual festival to Collectif 52. This festival, formerly known as "En avant la musique" , was launched in 2018 to celebrate the Fête de la Musique. Although the event was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was clearly a valuable initiative for the local community.

Collectif 52 then took up the torch with the ambition of breathing new energy into it while maintaining the community spirit of the event. This is how the Mont'Ain festival was born, the first edition of which under this new identity took place in winter 2021, marking the beginning of an ambitious and promising adventure.
